Welcome Message
Hello and welcome to my blogger page; In my blog I will be sharing all the work I have done for this unit. On this blogger page I will be sharing, all the models that I have created and produced for my 3D Modelling unit. Within this blog page I will also be publishing my proposal, evaluation, tools and techniques that have gained, I will also be posting assignments and essays that I have produced for this unit.

Unit 66/3D Report
3D Report

3D Models and animation
sweeps across from different markets and industries, becoming a popular
visualisation and advertising trend. They are created so that designers can
present their ideas to a client, manufacturer or they can be designed for
mock-ups and prototypes. When presenting ideas to a client, 3D models are a useful
way to showcase what they expect to achieve.
Product Design
Using 3D models for product
design is useful to explain and present ideas fro products in front of a
client. Using 3D modelling software allows you to develop skills and design your own product from scratch,
you can choose the size and general feel of the product. It is a very useful
way of presenting an idea for a product as it can be viewed from any angle and
also with the use of it being on a computer screen you can change anything that
doesn’t look quite right, this could be from re-sizing the product to
completely re arranging the colour scheme and shape.
Animations
3D modelling is used a lot
for animation purposes; this could be from making a character to making a text
or product spin so the viewer can see all angles. Even the most boring of
visuals can be brought to life with the use of 3D modelling, which is why a lot
of animations are used in all sorts of programmes, adverts and films. The use
of 3D animation can be applied to any field or industry, marketing teams use 3D
animations to showcase presentations and demonstrate a product. By Using 3D animations and modelling
creations, it can be used for explaining what something could look like without
writing ideas on paper, it can also be used to give a client more of an insight
of what he/she can be expecting by using 3D modelling to make the client get
into a creative and imaginative mind-set. Professionals use 3D modelling and
animation and find it is a useful tool for a variety of purposes
TV and Film
The use of 3D modelling in
TV and Film industry is used for many tv programmes and films, 3D models are
mainly used for movies, TV programming and advertising reels. 3D Models and 3D animation in the film making
industry are used now more than ever before , Pixars ‘Toy Story’ came out in 1995, since then there have been
many films used with 3D modelling and is now branching into fields as diverse
as medicine, gaming, and also for promotional and advertising purposes.
Architectural walkthrough
The use of 3D modelling in
architecture is one of the widest application fields of 3D modelling and it is used
for advertising and promotional purposes. The use of 3D Modelling has changed
the way the market now sees construction; this meaning that architectural
design is expanding visions, reducing time for presentations and minimizing
flaws; today technology is so advanced that 3D animation and 3D modelling is
used to get an even bigger insight of what could be built in the construction
and architectural industry. 3D modelling is used for these purposes as the
techniques used save time when constructing a plan and also showcases what the
finished product would look like after being built, which gives the people an
insight of what to expect before any construction even starts. The advantages
of using 3D modelling for architecture is that you can gain immaculate
visualisation for the product, understand the different types of textual
patterns within a building, can be used as an effective promotion to the
public, and have an effective architectural walkthroughs and virtual tours.
Technology is getting more and more advanced, the combination of the software
used for 3D Modelling and professional architects is useful to everyone as with
the use of advanced technology, modern structural buildings can be built from
the software used for 3D modelling.
Web and games
3D Modelling is becoming a
trend for the web design and the gaming industry. Gaming is a huge industry and
soley relies on the competence of 3D models and animations to be at its best.
Almost every game is built using 3D models and the most modern games are
interactive and highly engaging as every model is almost life-like. Technology
is improving constantly so every time a new game is released, the graphics and
use of 3D models are improved massively.
Scientific imaging/Education
In the field of medicine, 3D
animation and models are used for training, educational and is also a useful
tool for scientists and surgeons. The use of 3D modelling in medicine is likely
to be one of the most important uses of techniques the industry uses,
information can be easily transmitted through this and visualising a problem
with the human body would be much more useful to exam through than it would on
paper. Today, computer technology
allows medical illustrators to create virtual three-dimensional medical models,
using 3D models is a suitable way to teach others about the human body in the
medicine and the scientific industry. It is a practical way of teaching an
amateur everything they need to know by using visuals like 3D models, it can be
used as a way of teaching as well as using it for a variety of purposes within
this industry.
In conclusion, the use of 3D
Modelling is useful to the majority of different industries, it is an effective
piece of software that is widely used for all purposes and can produce
realistic products. The final product all comes down to the great minds of
professional animators that are advanced in 3D modelling, technology is rapidly
improving over time, the future of architectural designs, animation, TV and
film will carry on improving and changing making the 3D modelling industry a
massive part in technology.

Unit 66/Sketches
Below are the sketches i designed before producing my 3D modelling, I sketched these images before starting to create the models to help give me an idea of where to start and also what I wish the finished product to look like.
