Unit 66/3D Modelling Evaluation

3D Modelling/Short Evaluation

Unexpectedly the 3D modelling unit was more intriguing and interesting than I first thought, although at times it was stressful when I didn’t understand some of the software, I understood 4D cinema more and more every time I used it to create my models.

I decided to re-create the potion room from the Harry Potter series, I thought the models I made were recognizable and easy to realise what they were. The most successful model in my opinion was the potion bottle model. I used the Leith tool to create different shapes and sizes and eventually got a range of all kinds of potion bottles, all of which are different shapes colours and sizes. My favourite feature about the bottles was the fact they glowed when the programme was rendered. This brightened up the room with just a little light and they were different colours coming from every angle, this is one of the reason why it was the most successful and also my favourite model that I created. If I was to improve any of my models I would improve the bookshelves that I made, although they look like bookcases, I feel more detail could have been added to it to make it more fantasy like, although when the bookcases were put together in the dome type room I made, they came together quite nicely when all the books and potion bottles and jars were added onto it. Overall I feel all my models were successfully made and you can instantly see that this was a potion room, which was my intention so I feel that this unit overall was successful.
