Unit 66/Potion Bottle

For my first potion bottle I used the coffee cup method to get the shape of the bottle; I used this method repreatldy to get all different bottle shapes. To start off I made a spline; to this I went into Objects then to Create Spline to B-Spline. After this i switched to front view then adjusted the viewport so I had enough space to work in. Working from the 0,0 axis point I entered some points to roughly give a cross section of a bottle shape. The first model I made was a simple shape, I went onto front view and In order for me to create an unusual bottle shape I had to draw it using points, I used the b-spline to make it a unique bottle shape. When I did this it made a potion bottle shape, however the shape didn't come together until I used the HYPER NURBS tool to smoothen it. For the bottle to look like it is a potion bottle I had to make it look different to an ordinary bottle shape, the shape i chose was to make it think at the end and the start making the bottle wider at the top, like every jar or bottle, this one also goes in about before making it to the top, the bottle is an empty potion bottle so I had to create something to keep liquid inside it. From the influence of Harry Potter i googled potion bottles from harry potter and had a look at what there bottles looked like, the images i viewed all used corks at the top of there potion bottles so that is exactly what i decide to make. In order to make the cork work as the top i used a basic cylinder shape, I re-sized it to what a cork would actually and fitted it nicely in the potion bottle. After I made all the shapes i then used the material tool to make this look like an actual potion bottle, i used a simple wood tool for the cork and a vibrant blue glass material for the bottle. When the image rendered i was happy with the result and made many other potion bottles using this method, I changed the shape and colour of the glass but all the bottles were using the same concept.
